The Foundation for Educational Services (FES) is a public entity within the Ministry for Education and Sport. It works concurrently with the Education Directorates to provide a range of innovative educational initiatives to meet the needs of the community. The FES is committed to ensuring that all service users are supported through informal educational initiatives. It strives to offer quality educational services through structured contemporary programmes, financial sustainability and ethical behaviour. Together we provide a safe environment and an enriching experience to our learners, their families and all stakeholders.
FES is an entity within MEYR that provides a range of innovative educational services.

The third session is focusing on Keyword Signing held by Ms Vanessa Bezzina and Ms Maria Farrugia. FES childcare educators are already familiar with this initiative, which has been introduced within our centres during this past year. Today provides an opportunity to further strengthen the understanding and confidence in using keyword signing as a practical communication tool. Small gestures can make a significant difference, particularly for children who may need additional support in understanding, expressing themselves, or participating in everyday interactions.

Our second session delivered by Dr Francois Mifsud, is focused on exploring communication in a multicultural setting. Malta's childcare centres increasingly reflect the diversity of our society. We welcome families from different countries, cultures, traditions, and languages. Effective communication is essential for building trust, fostering positive relationships with parents, and ensuring that children feel safe and respected. Developing cultural awareness and strengthening our communication skills helps us create environments where diversity is celebrated as a strength.

Today marks the second annual seminar for F.E.S. childcare educators titled "Different Voices- Shared Understanding".
Our first session, being delivered by Mr. Jefflyn Grech, will focus on inclusion within the childcare setting. Inclusion is not simply about ensuring that children are present in our centres. It is about creating environments where every child feels that they belong, can participate meaningfully, and can reach their potential. Inclusive practice requires us to look beyond labels and individual differences and instead ask ourselves: What can we do to help every child take part and thrive?
