Professional Development Course for Prospective Playworkers

The Foundation for Educational Services (FES), in collaboration with the Institute for Education (IFE), is organising Professional Development Course for prospective Playworkers.

These sessions will lead to part-time employment as Playworkers within the Klabb 3-16 and Skolasajf Centres of the FES. This does not apply for existing employees.

Upon completion of the 40 hour Job Shadowing, you may apply through the recruitment website >> Expression of Interest for Playworkers of the Development Course – Klabb 3-16 (Part-time) << for the role of Playworker in one of our Klabb 3-16 centres (depending on centre demand), should you be interested to start working on an indefinite contract basis.

If you like working with children, already have some experience with working with children, or you are a parent with some time on your hands, then this may be the course for you. In order to be eligible, an applicant needs to present the following:

  • A school leaving certificate
  • Character Reference Letter
  • CV
  • Recent Police Conduct Certificate (6 months)
  • Applicants need to be 17 years of age.

The course consists of:

Phase 1

Lecture 1 – Dealing with Challenging Behaviour and Disabilities
Lecture 2 – Communication and Teamwork
Lecture 3 – Classroom Management
Lecture 4 – Activity Design, Implementation & Evaluation
Lecture 5 – Diversity and Inclusion

Phase 2
Induction Meeting at FES and Assignment of Centres
 
Phase 3
Job Shadowing – 40 hours in one of our centres
 
Phase 4
First Aid Course
 
Phase 5
Evaluation Session at FES – Contract Signing
