Chief Executive Officer 

Ms Elizabeth Pisani

Elizabeth Pisani is the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation for Educational Services (FES).  Prior to joining FES Ms Pisani was the policy co-ordinator at the Ministry for Education and Employment and amongst other projects co-ordinated the ‘Respect for All Framework’.  She also gave her input in other educational policies.  She started her professional career in Education as Guidance and PSD teacher at Fortini Boys Secondary School. Ms Pisani worked at FES as an Id f’Id animator and later as a Nwar Tutor and co-ordinator.

During her career she worked as a special education teacher at Guardian Angel Resource Centre, an Autism Spectrum Support Teacher
, and later as an Assistant Head at San Gorg Preca College, Valletta Primary School.

Ms Pisani has a Bachelor in Psychology, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a Masters in Education from the University of Malta.  She is also involved in local voluntary work. In 2008 founded the Diocesan Commission for Children and served as a local councillor at the Local Council of Mellieha between 2002 and 2005.  At present she is a member of the
University of Malta Council, the Language Policy in Education Committee, the Lifelong Learning Strategy Steering Committee and the Council for Children, chaired by the Commissioner for Children.

Ms Pisani is currently reading for a Doctorate in Education at Brunel University.

Chief Executive Officer ​- Designate 

Ms Josette Fiott

Josette Fiott is the Designate Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation for Educational Services (FES).  Prior to joining FES Ms Fiott was Head of School at Mosta Primary A.


She started her professional career in 1988 as a Physics teacher. She taught for fifteen years in state and church schools in both boys’ and girls’ schools. She then worked as Assistant Head of School at St. Monica School Gzira for eight years. During this time she was in charge of curriculum from Kinder to Form 5, the School Development Plan, special needs, and special responsibility for children from Year 6 to Form 2. She was also a member of a national focus group on the teaching of science in primary years and was the coordinator of a Comenius project with partners from six countries.

Her first experience of Headship was at Sacred Heart Junior School but then moved to the state sector where she was Head of School at Mosta Primary A for six years. During this time she led the largest A school in Malta with the largest kindergarten population based in a separate Annexe making the position more demanding. Her school also hosted one of the largest Klabb 3-16 centres and Skolasajf.

Ms Fiott has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with specialization in Physics and Integrated Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Administration and Management. She also attended a number of other courses notably a course in the management of European projects in schools in Wales.

She is also the mother of two children.

Business Support Unit
The Business Support Unit offers administrative support to the services and programmes unit of the FES. This includes Finance and Accounting, Human Resources and Organisational Development, Procurement, Administration, Estate Management, Information Technology & Communications.
